NYT has a story (free registration) today about how a special commission is considering giving folks called for jury duty free Internet access while they wait to be empaneled. Another suggestion: let them actually leave, “as long as they agreed to be available by cellphone or pager and could return within two hours.”
It’s a sign that the proliferation of technology is not only improving our lives, but also making it easier to do our civic duties.

I’ve been putting off blogging about this for a day or so, partly because I’m still, at some level, unconvinced that it’s really happening.
