Harumph

December 2, 2005 by Pamela Parker

Everybody‘s talking about Yahoo! Mail’s integration of RSS, but — despite the fact that I use Yahoo! as my primary e-mail client for all non-work mail — I can’t use it. Why? Because I’m a Yahoo! SBC (soon to be AT&T?) customer and I have a different (read:lame and behind-the-times) interface. It’s so pathetic that those of us paying Yahoo! (and SBC) for access get these little bells-and-whistles rolled out so much later than everyone else. Also still waiting for the Yahoo! Photos feature that lets you attach a bunch of pictures to an e-mail. What’s the deal, Yahoo!? *Sigh*

The service is currently only available to beta users of Yahoo’s new Mail interface, so I doubt if it’s an SBC issue. Since you know people at Yahoo, I’m sure you could get signed up as a beta user of the newer interface, Pamela.

Maybe it’s not exclusive to SBC but I know my husband (who has a Yahoo! Mail Plus account) has had the option of toggling over to the new beta interface for at least a month. I made him check it out but he’s returned to the old interface, btw. But I, who get Yahoo! Mail Plus as part of the SBC subscription, don’t get that option. (Same for that Photo Mail feature they added a while back.)
